A Christmas Story

Happy non-denominational holiday season.

“Pleas let these people shoot their eye out.”

I’m kinda peeved over this “Christmas vs. Holiday” issue as of late. The thing is I don’t agree with either side. I’d like them both to get wet with spiked egg-nog and go pass out somewhere. For those who don’t know. A lot of christians are miffed at the fact that stores and places are putting more emphasis on saying/displaying things like “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas”. Bill O’Reily mentioned how it wasn’t an insult to non-christians to hear merry christmas, but it is an insult for them to hear happy holidays. This whole debate is asinine. I don’t think anyone should care either way. Say whatever the hell you want. Since I’m not Jewish should I be offended when I hear someone mention Hanukkah? All of these people make me sick. My biggest fear comes from something that should be good. I know we’re in the age of Aquarius and people should start moving to spiritual things, but the way I see it happening is scaring me. People are pushing for silly issues with a religious base and pushing them HARD. I don’t care if people wanna wish me happy plaid skirt day. I’ll just say the same to you. I might start saying Happy Christmahanukwanzaka to piss people off. This is one of the dumbest debates ever in history. I don’t know what’s wrong with people these days. I think we need to go back to my mothers old adage…pull them close with one hand and smack the hell out of them with the other. I swear people suck.

  1. Everybody needs a cause. What’s amazing is that folks have been saying “Happy Holidays” for years. I won’t even touch on the fact that Christmas hasn’t been about Christianity in forever. O’Reilly needs a laxative. What’s going on these days is not about spirituality. It’s about people using religion to justify their own bigotry.

  2. You are so right. We don’t need no more of this debate. People will debate just about anything, huh. Who the hell cares what people put up on signs? As long as they are not calling down curses on me I’m alright.

  3. why are the hypersensitive mad at “happy holidays?” my goodness, i could understand if folks were going around shouting “go fuck yourself to death on christmas christ lovers!” or had “may christmas fuck your dog” posters been posted on store fronts, but “happy holidays?” are they serious? *shaking my head*

  4. People are making way too much out of the issue. Christmas trees have no place in Biblical history, and as far as I know, there was no “holiday” celebrated at what we call Christmas in the Bible either. So, I say, call it what you want.

  5. there were two people on my job discussing this shit. i stood there listening to them, trying to figure out if i should mention the fact that neither one of the cheap bastids had donated canned food for the drive i was coordinating. cuz you know, it’s the season for giving, regardless of what they call the one or six or seven of the days occuring during it.

  6. so, thanks for saying it. i even didn’t know that there is this discussion out there, these past weeks have been crazy busy, no TV, no NEWSPAPER (oh my god i can’t believe it)
well anyways, i figured as i fell in love with a guy who theoretically is really not the ‘best choice’ that it is never about what people say or do really but how you are around them, what they make you be you know? so the same thing for any holidays: shut the FUCK up already, and I ll see how you are. does it affect you? do you love? do you donate canned food? oh hell, yeah, i guess you just wanted to blurt out some of your verbal diarrhae. thats it.

thank you. awwwww. even if i was jewish or hell what ever, i would appreciate a holiday that is meant to trigger contemplation on love and giving and taking.

    damn.

sorry for swearing so much. :)

    love!

  7. I think people just need to get over the whole naming bit and just enjoy the season. The whole angry discussion about it, is n’t what any one of these holidays is about. It’s just getting old. Let’s celebrate, not deliberate!
