Since I’m outta the loop I found out yesterday that my man’s new effort came out…yesterday. I haven’t heard anything from it but I went to Amazon and ordered it (symptom of a working man who should’ve went to Soundgarden). Since they came out Ghostface has been one of my favorite members of the Wu-Tang and since they started doing solo albums he has risen to the top. I will say that Gza is probably the most lyrically talented, but Ghost paints pictures. Plus he uses so much old soul music as samples that it gives him a unique feel. He does more touching songs than I have heard from most emceses, for example…

It’s these type of verses that make me have to hear more Ghostface. Though I have a disdain for too much crime type stories, I find that Ghost tells me a story in that environment and doesn’t make it all about the environment, but this particular thing he wants to touch on. Most clearly seen in “Run”. When I hear this song I think if the cops pull up on me I could black out and Run. More than saying, “we getting money” or anything you always hear, he says this is the situation and this is what you better do. All of this cats solo albums were solid productions. He has his own feel and he can easily transport me to another place. The most important thing is that while I know he exists in the now, his samples and some of his references remind me that he came from there…his peoples were playing those records just like ours were and that is a part of him. That’s Hip - Hop.
I wholeheartedly agree. I have been so busy replacing lost CDs, I’ve been missing out on new joints. His delivery is so damn. . .charismatic. He is by far one of my favorites, in the Clan and in hip-hop as a whole. I’ll spare you the various types of impure activities I would love to engage in with this dude. . .

What I like about Ghost is he is the only Wu member who has been consistent and maybe even gotten better since debut. I heard the album and went searching for it yesterday but apparently they are releasing it in Tdot next week for some dumb reason.

i love ghost! i kick myself almost daily for not having taken a trip to b’more to see him earlier this month. oh well, hopefully fishscales will do great & he’ll tour again.

Supreme Clientele was Ghost’s best effort and right behind that was the Iron Man disc. I wasn’t feeling Pretty Toney though but I read somewhere he wasn’t mentally into it when he recorded that effort. I’ll have to cop this one though. I don’t buy too much hip hop anymore, but I likes me a steady diet of the Killah!

Okay…I knew there was a reason I was a fan of yours. I have every solo release Ghostface has ever done. He tells a story in a way no other can. Kudos to you.

Ghost has been holding it down for sheezy. I have all albums but “bulletproof wallets” and they are all classics. From what I hear, he didn’t fall short on this one. Unlike the baller Amadeo, I can’t afford cd’s right now…thanks for stoppin thru fam

great post about Ghost. what you said was just so real. I am tired of the glorification of crime. Ghost and WU for that matter never put that vibe into the air it was always more of reaction to their surroundings as opposed to creating the dysfunction in the the environment.
