“Well, you see, Mike-Mike thought he should keep that cocaine he was slingin’ and the money he was makin’ from slingin’ it. I thought otherwise.” Omar Little
I’m pretty sad today. One of the best characters on T.V. went down. Omar Little was killed. This cat may have been the best most non-stereotypical cat on television…ever. I like the Wire for one reason above all. Anyone can be screwed up. Not just dirty politicians, but ones who start giving so they can get and become the system. Cops want to catch the “bad guys”, but they’re screwed up too. Kid who just want to look out for their brother become killers. I love that in a crime drama characters were actually that and not some caricature of good and bad guys.
It’s typical for many actors of an “ethnic” persuasion to basically have to ham it up in audtions. Be more street. Give some more attitude. The characters that they play often reflect this. Black Thugh #1. Latino Killer #2. So how often do you find a gay charcter who’s whole persona isn’t based on their sexual orientation? A killer and theif who only targets dealers and doesn’t curse? The realest part of this character after all is said and done may be his death. So enjoy some Omar. I don’t know when another character like this will be on any television show.
I know I’ve been all political on ya’ll over the last few posts, but there is at least one more post I have to make. If it bothers you guys at all…as my great-grandmother would have said:
Tough titty, but you still gotta suck it!
Anyway being that the internet is a place full of information and also the place where one can find the most cowardice and crud possible. Any comment section derived from a politcal story devolves quicker then a family of inbreeders. These are some things I have seen on the internet and feel I must combat.
1) Barack Hussein Obama - Everytime anything comes up involving this man, some asshole has to use his full name with emphasis on Hussein as if it’s an argument ender. Nobody mentions that it means “good; small handsome one”. Naturally since it’s Saddam’s last name it must mean that Obama is going to destroy us all. Run, run, flee this man’s middle name!!!! I contend that we will accept this on the condition that all men named George be hauled to prison. You see King George III actually sent troops to American soil to wage war with us. He even messed with our tea! Today’s equivalent would be coffee or beer. So shackle the President and all men named George. They want to mess with our coffee and beer!!!! Take Washington of the dollar bill as well…how dare he share a name with an english King!!!
2) That’s…not really a fact - People are constantly spouting non-facts about experience and religion in refernce to this presidential race. So I have to add in some non-facts of my own. Feel free to spread them around. Hillary and McCain are really Skrulls!!! They have come to gain power from within as the start of a full scale invasion. Only I can stop this menance!!! Send me all of the money that you can and I will put my plan into action! I can’t be your president, but I can be your savior!
3) The First Black President - Just stop saying that shit. Black people and white people. I will show you some real equality if I keep hearing this. If Bill Clinton was the first black president I declare anyone can claim any race or ethnicity they so choose. I declare myself; part white (with Mayflower lineage)- gimmie my money, part Native - gimme my Casino money, part Japenese - gimmie my internment camp money…oh and Australia does give the Aborigines some money (since they finally admitted they did some bullshit to them) I’m also part Aborginine…I’m one of the “Stolen Generation”… they even exported me!
4) You stoopid - I hear people making all these claims. Hillary is for the working man! Hillary will end the war! Barack isn’t ready! McCain is tested! Shut up! Hillary voted for NAFTA how does that work for the working man? McCain was a president already, really? Let’s just put all this to rest here is a list of some experienced and inexperienced presidents:
Experienced:
James Buchanan
Woodrow Wilson
Herbert Hoover
Inexperienced:
John Kennedy
Abraham Lincoln
Franklin Roosevelt
I think that says it pretty well right there, but if someone wants to bring up the Bay of Pigs in reference to Kennedy…he also overrided older Military men’s suggestions when it came to the Cuban Missle Crisis. So now what? Stop toting the little you heard as the gospel truth (which is kind of an oxymoron itself).
Go read a book, or use the internet for more then just to spew your stupdity.
“Excuse me. Everyone, I have a brief announcement to make. Jesus was black, Ronald Reagan was the devil, and the government is lying about 9-11. Thank you for your time and good night. “ Huey Freeman
So I’ve noticed something and Brother Omi spoke on it as well. Now I’d like to pose the question to all of you. What’s up with our elders? Mind you in the endorsments for this Presidential race alot of the endorsements of older black people (especially those who came to prominence during the civil rights era) are going to Hillary Clinton. It’s not restricted to him as Omi brings it up in reference to Corey Booker running against Sharpe James for Mayor of New Jersey. So really, what’s the deal? Why fight (or at the least claim to) for blacks to be able to do things like run for Mayor or President and then knock the ones that are now doing it? In Hillary’s case I see some connection between women…but in the Booker-James case, what was it? Now I already have my issues with Elders (see: the last few decades), most notably for blaming Hip-Hop for the woes of our society. Especially when most of them would try to qualify or justify the acts of some of their beloved musicians. I would like to send a special shout out to Bob Johnson who’s dis of Obama also included a subtle dis of Sidney Poitier. I’m not an advocate of supporting someone just because they are black or a woman or whatever they are. Everyone should look at their choices carefully. However when you are someone publicly recognized you have to consider how your support is used. In that light I find it especially amusing that while Democrats are telling the Clintons to chill out with throwing dirt on Obama (seeing as they’re all dems), no one is saying much to or about these older blacks doing the same to Obama. Even if he isn’t the best choice, isn’t throwing dirt on him just bad form? I’m most upset with those who wanted to challenge the idea of his Blackness. What makes someone black? Should I register somewhere to ensure my status? I didn’t see all those same people ripping Bob Johnson when he owned BET, but they could rip Nelly for just having a video on the network. If I followed that logic it would seem like at the least they don’t rip the ones who are in a higher position. Wrong. What’s higher than a U.S. Senator running for President? Add to that they’re ripping the only black one. I could see a difference if he was just dirty and everyone knew on the low. But any dirt you could find on him would pale next to Clinton dirt. So why? Is it cause Bill can play the sax? When I describe this gap it includes Oprah, being as she is a part of Generation Jones (go ahead and google that) like Obama and not a baby boomer. So is it just the older generation fearing a younger one? Does he represent something greater that naturally frightens them? I don’t think I even have enough time to get into younger thug type cats that have told me they think Obama is some kind of scam. I understand the place where they are coming from. I don’t understand the elders though. Maybe ya’ll can help me.
Normally I read article online and the commenters just piss me off. Naturally I had to share something with you guys where someone actually posted something that a) made sense b) could be verified and c) wasn’t just spewing more crap they heard somewhere else.
*edit: I wouldn’t count two of Clintons…I’m sure every person in a political office in New York wrote or proposed something in regards to 911.
Good Morning Everyone! As you can see, Senator Obama has much more LEGISLATIVE EXPERIENCE than Hillary. Looks like Hillary has spent her senate day names postoffices & buildings! Hillary has not INITIATED one bill!!
“Senator Clinton has based her campaign on an erroneous claim to greater legislative and administrative experience. Former President Clinton talks up her role in his administration on the campaign trail but pointedly refuses to release any documents that would provide greater details on her actual activities there. It is broadly understood that Hillary spearheaded the response team that staved off Republican attacks and spun the many scandals of the Clinton years. As to her Senate record, no one in the press has had the diligence to lay out her record for the public to assess.
Senator Clinton, who has served only one full term (6yrs.), and another year campaigning, has managed to author and pass into law, (20) twenty pieces of legislation in her first six years.
These bills can be found on the website of the Library of Congress (www.thomas.loc.gov), but to save you trouble, I’ll post them here for you.
1. Establish the Kate Mullany National Historic Site.
2. Support the goals and ideals of Better Hearing and Speech Month.
3. Recognize the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.
4. Name courthouse after Thurgood Marshall.
5. Name courthouse after James L. Watson.
6. Name post office after Jonn A. O’Shea.
7. Designate Aug. 7, 2003, as National Purple Heart Recognition Day.
8. Support the goals and ideals of National Purple Heart Recognition Day.
9. Honor the life and legacy of Alexander Hamilton on the bicentennial of his death.
10. Congratulate the Syracuse Univ. Orange Men’s Lacrosse Team on winning the championship.
11. Congratulate the Le Moyne College Dolphins Men’s Lacrosse Team on winning the championship.
12. Establish the 225th Anniversary of the American Revolution Commemorative Program.
13. Name post office after Sergeant Riayan A. Tejeda.
14. Honor Shirley Chisholm for her service to the nation and express condolences on her death.
15. Honor John J. Downing, Brian Fahey, and Harry Ford, firefighters who lost their lives on duty.
Only five of Clinton’s bills are more substantive.
16. Extend period of unemployment assistance to victims of 9/11.
17. Pay for city projects in response to 9/11
18. Assist landmine victims in other countries.
19. Assist family caregivers in accessing affordable respite care.
20. Designate part of the National Forest System in Puerto Rico as protected in the wilderness preservation system.
There you have it, the facts straight from the Senate Record.
Now, I would post those of Obama’s, but the list is too substantive, so I’ll mainly categorize. During the first (8) eight years of his elected service he sponsored over 820 bills. He introduced
233 regarding healthcare reform,
125 on poverty and public assistance,
112 crime fighting bills,
97 economic bills,
60 human rights and anti-discrimination bills,
21 ethics reform bills,
15 gun control,
6 veterans affairs and many others.
His first year in the U.S. Senate, he authored 152 bills and co-sponsored another 427. These included:
**the Coburn-Obama Government Transparency Act of 2006 (became law),
**The Lugar-Obama Nuclear Non-proliferation and Conventional Weapons Threat Reduction Act, (became law),
**The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act, passed the Senate,
**The 2007 Government Ethics Bill, (became law),
**The Protection Against Excessive Executive Compensation Bill, (In committee), and many more.
In all since enter the U.S. Senate, Senator Obama has written 890 bills and co-sponsored another 1096. An impressive record for someone who supposedly has no record according to the spin meisters and mindless twits. I challenge Clinton supporters to name a single legislative accomplishment that demonstrates her superior experience.

Wow actual substance…I can go play WoW and now the internet is safe…for 30 seconds.
It’s a conspiracy! It’s all connected! None are safe! Just wait until New England Nation votes Belichick in as a Senator…that’s how it started for Palpatine.
“The enemy is anybody who’s going to get you killed, no matter which side he’s on.” Joseph Heller (1923 - )
I’m pissed party people. So my man Dally (Outsiders) put me on with Bossip.com and how What About Our Daughters has their knickers in a twist cause of post they did - They also pulled the punk ass move of working to get one of their sponsors pulled. Basically the post was about Maya Angelou coming out for Hillary Clinton and it’s filed under their category “Ho Sit Down”. Frankly, I always hear about respecting elders and while I believe in it, I operate like this: respect is earned. Our elders (on the whole) haven’t done anything to earn it. For real…all these civil rights “heroes” that come out for Hillary can get a Ho Sit Down. It’s worse than Stanley Crouch (he look like Uncle Ruckus) dissing Hip-Hop like his favorite Jazz Musician was never on drugs…whoa!!!! I better not name him…he’s old…it would be wrong. Maaaaaan, fuck that. Half of these cats spend their time lauding the thougthts of those like them, or bashing, basically, their children and grandchildren. When the real truth is they played a bigger hand in the illness plauging the youth then they will ever admit. I wish I could formally call all of them out. Then on the other side of the Obama issue are all these people that want him to be some big black crusader…yeah let’s make white America even more uncomfortable. I already read and come across such nonsense from white people in regards to him when he hasn’t made race an issue. I actually witnessed someone comment that they didn’t want February to have 31 days!!!! Still, a bunch of us would have Barack dressed like a Black Panther, promising reparations and smacking Hillary with a copy of the Final Call. Some of ya’ll would still say it ain’t enough. Mind you none of ya’ll go to work like that…even when you work with a majority of black people. All ya’ll Hoes sit down. While stories of merit go unnoticed, people still keep harping on the same nonsense talking points. Frankly I give a Ho Sit Down to elders of every color when I hear, “He doesn’t have enought experience”. SIT DOWN, Baby Boomers have been fucking everyone from my generation on for long enough. Thanks guys, enjoy social security cause I won’t get to. Oh you wanna run things for another 4 years? Sure why not. See if you can’t screw me out of getting into the AARP one day. When you compare Obama (experience wise) to former presidents he tends to line up with Clinton and Kennedy - I heard one person qualify this by saying “Kennedy was tested in the military”. A bunch of ya’ll have relatives that were in the service who you wouldn’t ask to hold a carton of eggs…please. The most incredulous thing of all is this…what has Hillary done to get all these old black folks behind her. Is it cause of what Toni Morrison said about her husband? I’ve got a Ho Sit Down for her based on that as well. He gets to be black while Obama has to try and prove he is? Ya’ll might as well get on some Alan Keyes vibe and move around to try and run against him…that’s right, dude moved from Maryland to Illinois just to run against Obama. What the hell is all of this about? Is it fear? Are we so scared that a black person might really do something that we can oppose that alot of us will do anything to stop him? The “old guard” shouldn’t stand up. It’s obvious to me that most of you sat down a long time ago. Look at my generation, I’m scared to even mention the ones after me. It’s not some random bad luck accident that things are as they are. Children are a responsibility. You don’t lose them, they aren’t car keys. You leave them. Thanks for leaving us behind, but do us a favor will ya? Now that one of us, not of your generation, is trying to do something. Keep the status quo and leave us alone. Sit down hoes. You had your shot and look what it has reaped. Look at the madness that goes on in the streets. It’s been going since before Bill was in office. Is his wife going to clean all of that up? I don’t think Barack is our Savior either, but I don’t dis him just because. Honestly, any civil rights activist coming out for Hillary and not citing a specific issue that she address and he doesn’t is basically just spitting on Obama. Even Caroline Kennedy who hasn’t supported anyone came out for him. Her uncle came out after the Clintons wouldn’t stop throwing dirt on Barack. All these old school negroes want to come out for Hillary though. Notice that? Oprah who has never gotten into political situations came out for him. Why is the generation who “fought” so hard for us, at a moment when a brother is poised to take the highest seat of power in the land saying…”nah, give it to the white girl.” The most bothersome aspect of all of this is their support is only good to down Obama. If it was Hillary and Edwards would people really care who Maya Angelou was for? Did anyone ask which Civil Rights activists were supporting John Kerry? It kills me, and this is from an honest perspective, that I’m seeing someone shape-up in a way politicians never do and he’s taking it on the chin. He’s standing tall and sticking with his message and people are trying to pull anything they can out of their ass to throw at him. Honestly, I don’t ever recall people having to go back and find things you did (or wrote) before you even got to middle school. It’s one thing when people say vote for (insert name here) and the terrorists win…that’s old. But with Obama they basically tried to paint him like Osama bin Laden, like he was some secret spy come to takeover from the inside. I thought the whole swiftboat thing was bad last time around, but I truly believe Obama has gotten the worst anyone has gotten in the last few decades…and they still can’t get rid of him. The more I actually rationally look at and research people, the better he looks. Maya mentioned supporting Hillary cause she’s a mother. In a time of broken homes Barack is a father. So now what? Why do we seem to be fighting him so hard? Why is it yesterday that’s fighting him so hard. Next time you say Barack hasn’t come out for Black issues…show me all of Hillarys Jena 6 quotes. Sit down.
